The Port of Wilmington, Delaware

The Port of Wilmington, Delaware is a full-service Mid-Atlantic marine terminal located on the Delaware River and with superior interstate highway connectivity. Annually, the Port’s eight general cargo berths handle over 400 vessels calls discharging and loading over 4 million tons of general cargo.

In 1987 the Port entered the livestock trade loading live cattle to Venezuela, Egypt, and the Canary Islands. More recently in 2007 the Port handled four shipments of dairy cows to the Middle-East totaling almost 7300 head. The Port is well equipped to handle your business. It has ample dockside space to accommodate the transfer of livestock from trucks to ship and to store and load feed and hay for the voyage. Also, it is located in close proximity to most major export cattle producing facilities thus reducing the inland transportation costs from the farm to the Port.
